SaaStr has been working closely in conjunction with the Barcelona International Convention Centre (FIRACCIB), the Barcelona Turisme Convention Bureau, and our dedicated, international Health & Safety team to bring the 2022 edition of SaaStr Europa to Barcelona.
As COVID-19 and international health & safety regulations evolve, these guidelines will continue to be adapted and updated to have the safest event possible.
All those planning to attend will be asked to adhere to the following health & safety guidelines.
#1. Required: Vaccine verification for all attendees. All attendees (regardless of point of origin) must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they have been fully vaccinated.
You must have received your 2nd or subsequent vaccinations within the last 270 days for all attendees.
The following vaccinations are acceptable: AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen/ Johnson & Johnson, Moderna (SpikeVax), Nuvavoid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac.
Following the US CDC Guidelines as of 5.25.22, the previous 14-day waiting period is no longer necessary for boosters - meaning attendees can enter regardless of the date when their 3rd booster was received.
Other vaccines are accepted only if the most recent booster dose (3rd shot) is one of the above-listed vaccines.
An EU COVID-19 recovery certificate is only valid if issued 180 days prior to arrival and a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test is taken within 24 hours before your flight.
We recommend bringing your physical vaccination card or vaccination documentation with you when traveling to Spain and SaaStr Europa
#2 Required: Proof of Negative COVID test for all in-person attendees. Whether you’re coming from our host country of Spain or traveling internationally, all attendees will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of entrance to SaaStr Europa.
This is in addition to showing proof of vaccine. Both are required for entry into SaaStr Europa.
Plan to be tested and bring your proof of negative test with you. A Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) or an accepted Rapid Antigen Detection Test (RAT) is accepted as long as it’s negative.
Helpful hint: You can use an over-the-counter COVID rapid test and take a photo of your id, time-stamp, and result and bring it with you.
Limited rapid testing will be available at SaaStr Europa Registration, but do take 15 minutes per person. Plan to wait at least 30-45+ minutes or more to be tested at these locations. Those that test positive for COVID 19 will not be permitted entry.
#3 Temperature checks each day of the event. Everyone attending SaaStr Europa will be required to undergo a passive temperature check prior to entry. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4 Fahrenheit will not be permitted to attend.
SaaStr Europa 2022 Conference is:
An Outdoor/ Indoor Gathering. SaaStr Europa will be an outdoor/indoor event to promote better airflow and the continued safety of our attendees. Our event will utilize the open-air ground floor of the CCIB, open-air terraces, and adjacent Plaza Leonardo da Vinci. Acceptable face coverings, such as masks are suggested in our limited indoor spaces.
Increased sanitization and hand washing. SaaStr and the CCIB Center will implement increased hand sanitation stations and handwashing stations. Those in attendance will be expected to frequently wash and sanitize their hands. We will also be implementing frequent wipe downs of all common touch areas each day including doorknobs, lecterns, microphones, counters, trash receptacles, screens, water stations, registration tables, keynote chairs, and in and around the bathroom areas
Increased medical personnel and security will be on-site to handle medical emergencies and oversee event medical operations
Physical distancing. In addition to hosting the event outdoor/indoors to promote greater comfortability amongst attendees and promote free airflow, SaaStr has adjusted the event’s layouts and guidelines to promote physical distancing between attendees. Europa will spread out attendees via additional stages, seating, and working stations.
Not feeling well? For the health and safety of all our attendees, if you have any flu-like symptoms within the last 2 weeks prior to the event (fever and a cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose) or symptoms related to COVID-19 within the last 2 weeks prior to the event, unfortunately, you will not be allowed entry into SaaStr Europa 2022. We are unable to make any exceptions. If sickness prevents you from traveling and attending, please contact the SaaStr Europa Team at europa@saastrinc.com to update your travel plans.
Pre-Arrival Requirement:
An EU Digital Covid Certificate, EU Equivalent, or Spain Travel Health QR Code is required for entry to Spain.
In accordance with Spain Travel Health, all attendees must visit https://www.spth.gob.es/ to verify their vaccination status and receive a code prior to boarding their flight into Spain. This code will be used for departure flight checks, health checks at the airport upon arrival, and for verification at SaaStr Europa. This is mandatory per Spain Travel Health. Please do not skip this step to obtain your code before traveling to SaaStr Europa.
